The holiday countdown is on and thankfully Laurel Gallucci of Sweet Laurel Bakery has a quick, easy idea for last-minute gifting: homemade hot chocolate mix. Gallucci’s take on the idea is both healthful and helpful, too, since it doubles as an activity to do with children. Her recipe and tips follow below. Merry, merry!
Hot Cocoa Mix
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1/4 cacao powder
1/4 tsp pink salt
1/2 cup coconut milk powder or milk powder of choice
Mix in food-processor.
Yield: 10 ounces
Pour mix into a jar with a tight fitting lid (such as an 8 oz mason jar easily found online).
Finish off with a festive ribbon and note with the below directions:
Whisk 1 tablespoon of mix into 1 cup of hot water or milk of choice and stir until combined.
You can also use a milk frother to evenly blend.
